Everything occurred during the reign of Big Meech and Southwest as drug lords, some of them happened. BMF is a creation of Demetrius Flenory and Terry Flenory, both of which are currently serving jail terms in real life. Obviously, some of the places may have changed.”
Speaking further, Huggins claims that he may have tweaked some of the characters to make them pop more. But, he said, “I don’t think there’s a character in there that I hadn’t heard of,” he said. “I may have to take a creative liberty to make an art pop a little bit more. I may have to take a creative license to make a scene funnier than it may have been, but that’s just part of telling a story. This is not a documentary.”
It is noteworthy that while the show needed to have tweaks here and there to look like a real show, it is based on a story – a real-life story.
