On March 28, 2015, a horrific murder was reported to the police. It was a dead body in an abandoned house in the 4100 block of Trotter Ridge Road in Durham, North Carolina. Tierra Hall was a girl who wanted to be a business owner but had her life truncated by a boy who was obsessed with her. It is shocking how these things happen. Tierra Hall was found dead with 14 knife wounds on her head, neck, shoulders, and arm. Seeing the knife’s broken tip in Tierra Hall’s cheek showed how violent the attack was. In an interview with a media outlet, Durham Police Chief Jose Lopez said, “too many youths resort to violence when dealing with their conflicts.”
Tierra Hall Story: How Was She Murdered?
Tierra Hall was raised by a single mother, Koteya Hall, in the bustling city of Texas. Then, somehow, the family moved to North Carolina for greener pastures. Hall was the lovable kind of girl, always happy, and was one of the smartest in the class. The 17-year-old had hoped to become a student at North Carolina Central University, but her life was cut short by a boy who was too obsessed with her.
On that fateful day, Tierra left for school on March 27, 2015, as per the regular schedule. But, unknown to her, it would be the last time she would see her mother. After failing to get across to her via calls and texts, Koteya, Tierra’s mother, believed that her daughter had probably slept over at a friend’s place. So, she didn’t worry. But the most shocking thing happened when Koteya received a call from the police that her daughter was dead.

Who Killed Tierra Hall?
Kelton Breshon. Tierra Hall was in a relationship with Kelton Breshon, and somehow, Tierra found out Breshon was too possessive and clingy. At the site of the murder, the police noticed the inscription: King K Tha Savage. It was the nickname Keshin had taken up and even posted on his social media accounts.
Surveillance footage was needed to help the police track who the killer of Tierra Hall was. The school, Jordan High School, obliged, and the police found out that Kelton and Tierra had conversations flared up as Kelton snatched Tierra’s phone and ran away with it. To get her phone, Tierra pursued him. Finally, the pair left the school premises around 12:25 pm. Some fifteen minutes later, video footage showed the couple walking towards Trotter Ridge house, where Tierra’s body would later be found.
The police observed notes of Kelton where he detailed his obsession with Tierra. Also, the name King K Tha Savage was seen in his notes, directly pointing to him as the killer. The notes also had murderous thoughts, which confirmed that Kelton had somehow planned for this day. Unfortunately, he returned to school alone with his hands taken inside his sleeves. He dashed to the restroom to clean his bloodstained hands. Kelton called his mother to come to pick him up from school, and they left at around 2:07 pm.
Tierra Hall Story: Kelton Breshon Received 15 Years in Prison
The prosecutors couldn’t prove premeditation. For the court to sentence a murderer to life, there has to be a motive for the murderer. And if the prosecutors cannot prove a motive, the court may not give a life sentence. The judge did not doubt that Kelton is the murderer of Tierra Hall, but if there is no proof that he planned to kill her, then the sentencing is reduced. It is expected that Kelton Breshon imprisoned at Gaston Correctional Institution in Dallas, will be released in April 2027. This pretty much sums up Tierra Hall story.
